Named after one of the tallest mountains in the region, Frozen Head State Park and Natural Area is a gateway to beautiful and difficult hikes up into the Cumberland Mountains. More than 80 looping miles of trails provide endless choices for anything from short mountain jaunts to all-day hikes. On top of its primitive campground, isolated backcountry camping allows an even more intense experience of the natural beauty this expansive park provides. The campground and trailheads begin on the western side of the park, 45 miles west from Knoxville.
Open year round. Trails open 8:00 a.m. - sunset.
Free entry. Overnight rates vary.
